DKMS (DKMS US)

DKMS is an international non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of patients with blood cancer and blood disorders. Founded in Germany in 1991, the organization expanded to the United States in 2004 as DKMS Americas, later renamed DKMS US, with headquarters in New York City. DKMS works to grow the pool of suitable bone marrow and blood stem cell donors by raising awareness, organizing donor registration drives, and supporting patients from diagnosis onward. The organization operates as part of a global network across countries including Germany, Poland, the UK, Chile, India and South Africa, collectively representing one of the world's largest stem cell donor registries. DKMS collaborates with hospitals, transplant centers, families and community organizations to recruit donors, facilitate HLA matching, and connect patients with life-saving stem cell or bone marrow transplants at no cost to registrants.
